Add a watermark to a PDF

Stamp text or an image across every page of a PDF to mark it as draft, confidential or branded.

Watermark PDF overlays a semi-transparent text or image watermark on every page. It doesn't touch the underlying content — the original text stays selectable, only the watermark sits on top.

Common uses: marking a document 'DRAFT' before circulating, adding a company logo, or a 'CONFIDENTIAL' banner.

How to use it

  1. 1Upload the PDF.
  2. 2Choose text or image watermark.
  3. 3Set text (or upload the image), plus opacity and position.
  4. 4Press Watermark PDF. Download the stamped copy.

Real-world use cases

  • Mark contracts as 'DRAFT' or 'FINAL' before sending.
  • Add a client logo to a delivered report.
  • Stamp 'CONFIDENTIAL' across an internal memo.
  • Add a copyright notice across every page of a whitepaper.

Frequently asked questions

Can the watermark be removed later?

Not by a normal viewer. A determined user with a PDF editor could remove it, so a watermark is a deterrent, not tamper-proof security.

Can I put a different watermark on each page?

This tool applies the same watermark to every page. For different per-page stamps, split the PDF first, watermark each, then merge.

Does watermarking make text un-selectable?

No — the underlying text remains selectable and searchable. The watermark is a separate layer on top.

What image format works best for image watermarks?

A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result.
