Translate PDF extracts the text of your document, translates it into the language you choose, and returns the translated text. Useful when you need to understand a document in a language you don't read, or to prepare a starting draft in a target language.
The heavy lifting is done by a large-language-model provider (accessed via the Emergent LLM proxy). Only the extracted text of your PDF is sent; the file itself never leaves our server.
How to use it

Supported formats & limits
Input: PDF with selectable text. Scanned PDFs need OCR first. Output: translated text (not a translated PDF laid out like the original — that would require desktop-publishing tools).
Privacy
The text of your PDF is extracted on our server and sent to a large-language-model provider (via the Emergent LLM proxy) to generate a result. The raw PDF file itself is not stored. If your document is confidential, use a local tool instead.

Frequently asked questions
Which languages are supported?▾
The underlying LLMs support most common languages, including English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Quality is best for widely-spoken languages.
Will the output preserve the original layout?▾
No — this tool returns translated text, not a fully-laid-out translated PDF. For layout-preserving translation you would need a desktop-publishing workflow after translating.
How faithful is the translation?▾
For general content, quite faithful. For legal, medical or specialised technical text, always have a qualified human translator review before relying on the result.
Is my document confidential?▾
As with AI Summarize, the extracted text is sent to a third-party LLM provider. Do not use this tool for documents that must remain strictly confidential.
