Crop the margins of a PDF
Trim whitespace, headers or footers so your content sits edge-to-edge — apply the same crop to every page in seconds.
Crop PDF changes the visible boundary of every page — the CropBox in PDF terminology — without deleting content or re-rendering the file. The underlying page stays the same size on disk; PDF viewers just show a tighter window into it. That means the operation is fast, lossless, and reversible in most PDF editors if you ever need the full margin back.
The main reason people crop a PDF is to remove wasted whitespace: a scanned book with 3 cm margins wastes screen space on a phone; a report exported at A4 has header/footer bars that look ugly when embedded on a webpage; a screenshot converted to PDF has a browser chrome strip along the top that needs to go. Crop fixes all three.
How to use it

Supported formats & limits
Input: any PDF (up to about 100 MB). Output: a cropped PDF where every affected page has a tighter visible area. Combined margins are safety-clamped so at least 10% of each dimension stays visible.
Privacy
Your uploaded file is written to a temporary folder on our server, processed, and deleted by the operating system as soon as the request finishes — typically within seconds. Nothing is stored in our database. Traffic is encrypted over HTTPS.

Frequently asked questions
Does cropping remove the hidden content, or just hide it?▾
It hides it — the underlying page content stays intact so most PDF editors can restore the full margin later. If you need to permanently delete content, use the Redact PDF tool instead.
Can I use different margins for different pages?▾
Not in the same run. You can crop a subset of pages with the same margins (using Specific pages), then run Crop again on other pages with different values.
Will the file size go down after cropping?▾
Usually slightly, because we run a light optimisation pass on save. The savings are much smaller than Compress PDF gives you — crop is about the visual window, not the file size. Use both tools together for maximum shrinkage.
What is the maximum crop I can apply?▾
Each side is capped at 45%, and the total of opposite sides (top+bottom, left+right) cannot exceed 90% — otherwise you'd end up with a completely empty visible area.
Does cropping affect printing?▾
Yes — most printers respect the CropBox, so a cropped PDF prints only the visible area. This is usually what you want. If you need to print the full page, keep the original file.
